Treatment of vaginal candidiasis during pregnancy?
Candidiasis is a fungal infection, so it will be treated with anti-fungal medications such as miconazole cream 2% three times per day for one week. It is also advised to wear cotton underwear clothes and keep your vaginal area clean and dry as much as possible
Diagnosis ?
It is usually diagnosed clinically without any investigations. However, CBC might be done as well as a sample might be taken to be examined microscopically
Clinical manifestiations of vaginal candidiasis ?
Burning sensation in the vagina
Itching
Offensive vaginal secretion
White cheesy vaginal secretion
Advice ?
