contraceptive pills are not a cause for vaginal spotting you must know if ther is any irregularity i menstrual period as it may menstrual period after taking pills especaily if contain progestron delay it

but how to know if there is real pregnancy ?

1.pregnancy home test use of morning sample and if there is 2 lines then you are pegnant (try to repeat test on 3 days)
2.HCG level in laboratory blood sample and to see if it's duplicated within normal every 2-3 days 
3.do a palvic ulrasound to see if there is gestational sac or not in general heart pulse can be detected after 6 weeks 

What are the signs that you get pregnant ?

1.amonorhea well in your case you must ckeck that your delating time not because of menstual  irregularity or because the using of contraceptive pills 
2.change mood 
3.vaginal discharge  of wateery clear thick secretion 
4.on the end of 1st trimester breast change and increase body weight
