Hi Dr kindly my wife used emergency contraceptive...
Hi Dr kindly my wife used emergency contraceptive after unprotected sex. Her period was due on 20 June and now we are on 24 June. We did pregnancy test twice with last one yesterday and both were negative. She is having white discharge and had pink discharge yesterday when she use tissue. Please advise what to do and what are the chances she is pregnant knowing that we dont intend to have a child. Thank you

Dear Dr. Ayman,Thank you for your reply.She has non of the above symptoms of pregnancy. She just encountered mild pink discharge in the morning and another brown discharge in the afternoon but still didnt get her cycle.As for Candida infection she already started Fluconazole yesterday but still have some white discharge.I have read that in some cases ectopic pregnancy can cause false negative result on pregnancy test. We are worried that this might be an ectopic pregnancy especially that she has an unusual abdominal pain (Does candida infection cause abdominal pain??). If it is a probable ectopic pregnancy please advise what to do as today is day 33 of the cycle.Thank youMahmoud

as a vaginal infection , its unlikely to cause abdominal pain
Then , ectopic pregnancy is the cause of abdominal pain ?
its unlikely as well , as ectopic pregnancy wil have severe symptoms later during pregnancy , not once it starts
Does ectopic pregnancy have negative pregnancy test ?
it may be negative in the first period in case of using home pregnancy test , but it can be detected on the following tests :
1. pregnancy hormone test ( by blood )
2. US test
What do we advise you about delayed period ?
1. consult GYN doctor to do the needed routine medical test and determine the treatment pathways ( if needed )
2. in case of hormonal changes , doctor may prescribe medication to correct hormones imbalance such as duphaston , which you should take a pill every 12 hours for 5 days
3. in case of thriod hormone abnormalties ( usually accompanied with other symtpoms ) , doctor will prescribe medication such as Levothyroxine
4. in case of other chronic disease such as ovarian cyst ( PCOS ) or other disease , doctor may need addvanced examnation to determine the causes and treatment pathway
