according to the information you have mentioned in your question , your child got the needed treatment , which means your child fever will break eventually in 2 days at most , so we suggest to not give any medication or looking for a different way of treatment unless your child doctor advise you to 
What is the treatment of fever :
1. usually , if your child fever is under 40 c , then its mostly cause by simple infection or not-complicated reasons , but if the fever is over 40 or accompanied with other severe symptoms , then you need to consult your child doctor ( internal medicine ) as soon as possible 
2. avoid heavy exercise or activites during treating fever , and have plenty of rest 
3. drink plenty of water 
4. give anti-fever medication such as ibuprofen ( only on need ) and should excess 4 pills daily  ( one pill every 4 hours at most )
5. if your child condition presist or new symptoms appeared , consult doctor as soon as possible 
6. in most cases , its usually an infection sign , and usually doctor prescribe antibiotics such as amoxicilin for respiratory infections , and flagyl for gastric tract infections
