Causes of delayed period:

There are many different causes of delayed period as:

• Pregnancy, which is the first thing that must be ruled out
• Infection
• Uterine fibroid
• Ovarian disease
• Hormonal disturbance...etc

Diagnosis of the cause of delayed period:

You have to visit a gynacologist for clinical examination and investigations as:

• Bhcg test in blood ( Quantitative )
• LH
• FSH
• TSH
• Free T4
• Abdominal and pelvis US
• Prolactin
• CBC...etc

Treatment of delayed period:

It depends on the cause, as every cause has its specific treatment.
I adivse you to avoid taking any medications till ruling out pregnancy.
