Normal level of SGPT:

ALT or SGPT is a liver enzyme that is used in the detection of some liver diseases and other medical problems.
Normal level of SGPT is between 7-55 in adults

Causes of high level of SGPT:

There are many different causes of high SGPT as:

• Hepatitis
• Taking medications as aspirin
• Viral infection
• Gallbladder problem
• Muscular injury
• Renal disease
• Heart disease

In your case, this mild increase in SGPT is usually due to simple problem as muscle problem or viral infection.

Diagnosis of the cause of high SGPT :

You have to visit your doctor for clinical examination and investigations as:

• CBC
• ALT
• AST
• Billirubin
• Amylase
• Abdominal US
• Urea
• Creatinine...etc

Treatment of high SGPT:

It depends on the cause, and till the right diagnosis i advise you to:

• Drink good amount of water daily
• Avoid analgesia
• Avoid high fat food
