What is the treatment of common cold

1. Conservative treatment and it should be the most widely used, such as exposure to atnipyretic as paracetamol, pain relievers, ,antihistamine drugs as cholrpheneramine, warm steam inhalation, and antibiotics only used in case of bacterial infection

2-augmentin and ampicillin and cefuroxim and erythromycin  in case of bacterial infection

3. avoid cold air and cold water that irritates mucous membranes in the nose, throat and exacerbates the disease

4. Many patients complain of the persistence of symptoms despite taking antibiotics, and their neglect of anti-cough drugs and fever reliever, but what they do not know is that there is a type of cold called chronic colds, whose effects range from 5 to ninety days

 

What causes colds?

1. The most common infection is viral 90% of the infection with RSV and RV

2. While the 10% is a bacterial infection

3. Allergic reactions

4. Sinusitis This type of inflammation is  mediated to be caused by bacteria, so the antibiotic must be used

 

 

What are the symptoms associated with a cold

1. High temperature

2. Cough either dry or with a sputum

3. Clogged nose

4. fatigue

 

 

What are the tests needed to diagnose colds?

1. Clinical examination

2. PCR for nasal discharge to diagnose the type of virus causing the disease
