My son got a bad cough overnight...and fever...

What is the treatment of cough with fever ?

• Apply water compressors to lower the fever

• You can use Over the counter analgesics such as Cetal supp to lower the fever
• Nasal decongestants such as Normosal drops of Otrivin baby drops for nasal congestion
• Provide your child with enough food and milk as Breast milk offers protection from cold-causing organisms.
• Nasal Suction for any secretions

You need to go to the nearest medical center if you child suffer from

• High grade fever
• Worsening of symptoms
• Prouctive cough
• Irritability
• Fast or difficulty breathing

If the diagnosis is croup the  treatment will be:

• The majority of children with croup can be treated at home

• Provide humidified or cool air
• Offer fluids
• Hold your child in a comfortable upright position
• glucocorticoid
• Epinephrine

What are the tests needed  ?

• Clinical assessment in the nearest medical center .

• Complet blood count
• Chest X-ray
