What are the treatment of genital scratch?
- conservative treatment: clean the area with soap and water.
- antiviral treatment in case of genital herpes with acyclover PO as initially:400 mg orally every eight hours for 7
then 200 Mg every 4 hours for 5 days
400 mg orally every 12 hours for up to 12 months to prevent recurrence
and for pain paracetamol Tab 2 tabs every 8 hours(when needed) - antibiotics
benzathine benzylpenicillin ,azithromycin ciprofloxacin ,erythromycin doxycyclin - treat the partner in casr of Sexual transmitted disease
what are the causes of penis scratch?
- genital herpes
- syphilis
- chancroid
- lymphogranuloma venerum
- donovanis
what are the other symptoms associated with genital scratch?
- the ulcer could be vey painful as in case of chancre and herpes during urinating or anything that touches it
- multiple vesicles with ulcer orscratchBleeding
- discharge
what is the investigation to diagnose the cause of scratch?
- clinical exam is the most important
- swap the ulcer for culture and PCR
- blood tests for syphilis and herpes
