what is the treatment of back pain caused by disc herniation
- conservative management as in rest , take some analgesia if it is not responded to regular analgesia as brufen or baclophen there is the selective cox family like arcoxia and celebrix
- also muscle relaxant is good combination with analgesia with physiotherapy and back muscles excersice for good support for your spine
- recounstruvtive injection into intervertebral disc in case of disc herniation , but before you take it tell the doctor that you are diabetic so he reduce the steroid dose in it
- last resort is surgery as if there is no improvement of the previous methods
what are the associated symptoms with disc herniation
- tingling sensation of lower limp
- unable to control urin or stool
- weakness in the lower limp
- numbness over the skin at areas of lower limp
what are the tests used to diagnose the cause ofdisc herniation
- clinical exam
- lumbar spine MRI
- electromyography

My question was very clear up.. I have a disk 1.22 cm and I used all pain killers and still in severe pain.. do I need an operation...??

pardon me for my unclear answer
according to your medical history and what you took from pain killers and drugs
that your pain is uncotrolled with them
so before we shift into surgery
we should try a modality less invasive than the operation
as reconstruvtive injection of steroids
because surgery got many complication especially with your herniated 1.22 cm disc
and if we could control the symptoms by a less invasive method it is better for your health
if it wont be controlled by this modality then surgery would be considered as the last resort

you will not take them as drug pills
it is a gell of reconstructive material on of its material is steroids
injected directly to the disc
and this procedure done by a neurosurgeon doctor
