Is there any medicine for throat infection other than antibiotics?
Doctor's Assistant: Have you seen a doctor about this yet? What medications are you taking?

Treatment of throat infection:
It depends on the cause of infection, and if there is bacterial infection your child must take antibiotic.- But if it is due to viral infection ( which is the most common cause ) antibiotic is not needed.
- Your child can take:
- Paracetamol syrup
- chlorpheniramine syrup
Symptoms of bacterial infection:
- High grade fever
- Dyspnea
- loss of appetite
- Productive cough
What you should do?
It is better to visit a pediatric doctor for clinical examination and investigations to determine of the child needs antibiotic or not.Feel free to message me anytime here if you have further questions.
