Treatment of large B cell lymphoma?

• Diffuse large B-cell lymphoma tends to grow quickly. Most often

• the treatment is chemotherapy (chemo), usually with a regimen of 4 drugs known as CHOP (cyclophosphamide, doxorubicin, vincristine, and prednisone),
• plus the monoclonal antibody rituximab (Rituxan).
• This regimen, known as R-CHOP, is most often given in cycles 3 weeks apart.
• Because this regimen contains the drug doxorubicin, which can damage the heart, it may not be suitable for patients with heart problems, so other chemo regimens may be used instead.

Cycles numbers differ according the stage of disease?

• Stage I or II

1. For DLBCL that is only in 1 or 2 lymph node groups on the same side of the diaphragm 
2. R-CHOP is often given for 3 to 6 cycles, which might be followed by radiation therapy to the affected lymph node areas

• Stage III or IV

1. Most doctors will give 6 cycles of R-CHOP as first-line treatment.
2. After several cycles, doctors may get imaging tests such as a PET/CT scan to see how well treatment is working
3.  People who have a higher risk of the lymphoma coming back later in the tissues around the brain and spinal cord may be treated with chemo injected into the spinal fluid (called intrathecal chemotherapy)
4. Another option is to give high doses of methotrexate intravenously

Some advisable tips for diet in large B lymphoma patients:

• Foods that are high in carbohydrates include rice, bread and pasta. For a healthy option, choose brown, wholegrain or wholemeal varieties.

• Foods high in protein include meat, fish, eggs, beans and lentils.
• For a healthy option, choose lean, grilled cuts of meat. Red meat is a good source of iron and zinc as well as protein.
• But limit the amount of cooked red meat you eat to 70g per day
• You should also include dairy products (made from milk) in your diet.
• Dairy provides calcium (important for bone health), zinc (a mineral with various functions, including helping wounds heal) and protein.
• Milk, yoghurts and cheese are good sources of dairy
• Unsaturated (‘good’) fats can help keep your heart healthy and lower your cholesterol.
• Foods such as avocados, brazil nuts and oily fish are examples of sources of unsaturated fats
• The recommended intake of fruit and vegetables is at least 5 portions (80g) per day.

3. 7 cherry tomatoes.
4. avoid soft cheeses, uncooked or lightly cooked things like shellfish and eggs which would contain a lot of bacteria, and also live yoghurt
