there are many causes of back pain which are

muscle spasm
fatigue
carring heavy things
herniated disc
back trauma

treatment of back pain :

rest for at least 48-72 hr
cold compressors every 20 min
take naproxen 500mg two times daily
use diclofen gel 4 times daily
take relaxone tab twice daily for muscle relaxation

How to diagnose the cause of back pain ?

medical history
physical exam
back x-ray
MRI in some cases
