My son is 12 years old. For last three weeks when he goes to urinate his penis get erected due to which he cant be able to pass urine thats why takes much time in toilet. In urine analysis white blood cells found then doctor advised antibiotic as Augmentin but today is 6th day since he takes this medicine but still this problem is there. Can you please advise me what can be the problem, why his penis get erected while urge for urination. He has no pain at all.

regarding your question
There are two types of erections - psychogenic and reflex. Psychogenic are caused by thoughts or images. Reflex is involuntary process and some believe that a full bladder can trigger it.
Reflex actions are controlled by sacral nerves of spinal cord which are also simulated by full bladder
Applying heat of some kind over the bladder — say a hot water bottle or a heating pad — can relax the muscles and encourage urination.
