Treatment of fever

Fever is a symptom of increased temperature due to many factors and causes. Evaluation and treatment of like condition is by the following

• At first, you have to measure your temperature and document it
• If there is high fever you can do cold water packs on your head in addition to anti pyretic like paracetamol 500 mg as needed.
• Seek a medical help to be examined by your family doctor to determine cause of fever and exclude commonest causes.
• Do basic tests like CBC, urine analysis and stool test.
• Proper treatment is by determining the cause and fix it.

Causes of fever

There are many causes like the following

• Upper respiratory tract infections
• Common cold like influenza
• UTI
• GI infection
• Ear infections
• Drugs side effects
• Fever is a symptom of infection somewhere at most cases.
