Dear Customer
Welcome, and thank you for trusting
Regarding your question,
When does baby turn head down in pregnancy?
1. Most of pregnancy at 30-34 weeks the baby turn to cephalic (head down) position.
2. It should be of concern only if your baby does not turn their head after the 36 week, Even at this stage, it is possible for spontaneous turning to take place.
3. If the baby doesn't turn spontaneously you will be offerd external cephalic version-ECV.
What is external cephalic version-ECV?
1. This is an alternate method used to tilt the baby to a head down position.
2. This method is advisable when a mother is 37 weeks pregnant with a breech positioning.
3. To qualify for this procedure, one is required to have adequate amniotic fluid to cushion the child.
What are the contraindications for external cephalic version?
1. Oligohydramnios.
2. Placental abruption.
3. Previous CS.
What are the risk factors of breech pregnancy?
1. Premature births or when the fetus is smaller than average size.
2. Uterus contains fibroids.
3. Placenta previa.
4. Little or too much amniotic fluid.
5. If the previous pregnancy was a breech one.
