Hello I always felt severe pain on the left side of my kidney before my monthly period and so headache and can't sleep well. I hope you could answer why I feel this way before my period. Thank you
Have you seen a doctor about this yet? What medications are you taking?
No I haven't consulted the doctor. Everytime I feel this I take anaelgesic medicine.
Anything else in your medical history you think the doctor should know?
Nothing else. I feel this just 3 months ago until now.

What is Premenstrual Syndrome ?
it's a group of signs and symptoms that some women experience 5-10 days before the expected period date and relieved once their period begin
How can you treat Premenstrual Syndrome?
- take enough rest
- salt restriction
- decrease caffeine intake
- vitamin supplementation with calcium and magnesium are helpful
- pain killers like Ibuprofen or Naproxen
- oral contraceptive pills in some cases
What are the symptoms of Premenstrual Syndrome?
- abdominal pain
- breast tenderness
- increase in weight
- headache
- mood swings
- sensitivity to light or sound
- depression
- increased appetite
- fatigue
- constipation or diarrhea
- anxiety
- acne
Why does these symptoms occur?
due to increase in estrogen and progesterone levels in the cycle and changes in serotonin levels that affects mood
