1. Topical antibiotis: Fucidin gel applied 3 times daily.
2. Topical anti-fungal gel: Lamisil gel applied 3 times daily.
3. Analgesics: Xylocaine or Procto-glyvenol gel.
4. Treatment of external hemorrhoids.
5. Incision and drainage if abscess is present.
What are the causes of Anal redness and pain?
1. Bacterial infection.
2. Fungal infection.
3. Abscess fromation.
4. External hemorrhoids.
What can you do to prevent and decrease Anal redness and pain?
1. Cleanse gently. After bowel movements, clean the area with plain water or mild soap.
2. Dry thoroughly. After cleansing, pat the area dry with toilet paper or a towel.
3. Don't scratch. Scratching further irritates your skin and leads to persistent inflammation.
4. Wear cotton underwear and loose clothing. This helps keep the area dry.
