What are the causes of chest pain?

1. Cardiac related: Anigina
2. Respiratory related: when other symptoms like cough or shortness of breath or fever are present.
3. Muscoloskeletal related: like rib cage muscles spasm or intercostal nerve irritation.
4. Anxiety or stress can make such pain in certain situations.

What tests should be done as soon as possible?

1. ECG: to exclude cardiac causes of the chest pain, Myocardial infarction or Angina
2. Cardiac enzymes: CK-MB, Troponins
3. Chest ascultation to exclude respiratory causes.
4. Chest X-ray.
