- anticoagulant as heparin
- and catheter with stenting in case of coronary artery disease
- chest tube insertion in case of gas in the pleura or blood in the pleura

- most common cause is muscle spasm
- rib fracture
- heart disease as angina or Myocardial Infarction
- pneumothorax or heamothorax
