Welcome! How can I help with your medical question? Hello Sirs, I have an MRI report, my doctors are urging me to undergo a surgery using .. I need a medical advice on that! How can I send you the report? Have you seen a doctor about this yet? What medications are you taking? Yes. Not taking much but using anti-inflammatory drug. Anything else in your medical history you think the doctor should know? Yes. I had a previous small cut in the Tendo Achilles back in 2011. Checking it all through the years, and doing physiotherapy sessions yearly, the doctors never asked me to do a surgery nor roping my leg but, but they started asking me to do it in 2017. I feel some pain with walking and it is tolerable, I have sprained my left leg on 30/6/2018 and they said that it had increased the main injury!

Dear Customer
Welcome, and thank you for trusting us
,Regarding your question

How can you send us your MRI report?

Currently we don't have this option but soon we will add it to our website.

What is the treatment for a ruptured Achilles tendon?

1. Conservative treatment, to allow time for the tendon to heal naturally, resting it in a brace or plaster cast.
2. Operation to repair the tendon.

What causes a ruptured Achilles tendon?

1. High force or stress on it, this can happen with activities which involve a forceful push off with the foot - for example, in football, running.
2.  Injuries such as falls, if the foot is suddenly forced into an upward-pointing position.
3. Deep cut at the back of the ankle, which might go into the tendon.

What are the symptoms of Achilles tendon rupture?

1. A flat-footed type of walk. You can walk and bear weight but cannot push off the ground properly on the side where the tendon is ruptured.
2. Inability to stand on tiptoe.
3. If the tendon is completely torn, you may feel a gap just above the back of the heel.

Should you have Surgery?

1. You can treat an Achilles tendon rupture with surgery or by using a cast, splint, brace, walking boot, or other device that will keep your lower leg and ankle from moving (immobilization).
2. Both surgery and immobilization are usually successful. Another rupture is less likely after surgery than after immobilization. But immobilization has fewer other risks.
3. The success of your surgery depends on many things, including how badly your tendon is damaged, how soon after your rupture you have surgery, and how soon you start and how well you follow a rehabilitation program.
4. If you are younger or are physically active in sports, at work, or at home, surgery is often advised. If you are older or are inactive, immobilization is often advised.
