How can allergy be treated?

1. use allergy medications like antihistamines (Loratadine and Cetrizine)
2. if there is skin irritation or rashes, anti-inflammatory steroid cream like Hydrocortisone can be used
3. in severe cases, a course of steroid treatment for 4 weeks may be used
4. if there is breathing difficulties or severe reactions you should visit the emergency room directly as you may require oxygen supply and intravenous fluids and drugs
5. avoid any irritants or substances that trigger your allergy symptoms like dust, plants, pollen, smoking
6. avoid medications like ibuprofen, aspirin, penicillin and sulfa drugs that are known to aggravate your condition
7. avoid the types of food that trigger your symptoms in case of having food allergy
8. avoid cold weather and exercise if you noticed symptoms afterward
