What is the treatment of Depression and Anxiety?
Mainly, it's devided into medical and non-medical treatment:
Non-medical treatment:
1. Get in a routine.
2.Set goals. When you're depressed, you may feel like you can't accomplish anything. That makes you feel worse about yourself. To push back, set daily goals for yourself.
3. Exercise. It temporarily boosts feel-good chemicals called endorphins. It may also have long-term benefits for people with depression.
4. Eat healthy.
5. Get enough sleep. Depression can make it hard to get enough shut-eye, and too little sleep can make depression worse.
(Medical treatment(antidepressants:
1. (Selective serotonin reuptake inhibitors (most widely used like, citalopram, escitalopram,flouxetine
the usual daily dose starts with 10mg for 1 week then the dose can be increased to 20-40mg/day for a duration of 6 months.
2. Serotonin–norepinephrine reuptake inhibitors.
3. Serotonin modulators and stimulators.
4. Serotonin antagonists and reuptake inhibitors.
5. Tricyclic antidepressants.
My advice to you, is to start with the non-medical treatment and if your complains remain , then you can consult your psychiatrist for initiation of drug therapy.
1. Trouble concentrating, remembering details, and making decisions.
2. Fatigue.
3. Feelings of guilt, worthlessness, and helplessness.
4. Pessimism and hopelessness.
5. Insomnia, early-morning wakefulness, or sleeping too much.
6. Irritability.
7. Restlessness.
8. Loss of interest in things once pleasurable, including sex.
