Liver failure
Hepatitis
Liver cirrhosis
Congestive heart failure
Pancreatitis
Portal hypertension
Cancer

What is the treatment of ascites?

Stop alcohol intake
Stop acetaminophen containing drugs intake
Dietary salt restriction
Spironolactone is the first drug in management
Lasix can be used also
Water restriction if there is hypernatremia
Fluid taping
Liver transplantation
Treatment of cancer

If ascites still present the maximum dose of Lasix and aldacton should be taken.

Treatment of the cause is main management.
