Welcome! How can I help with your medical question? Yes I had a heart attack last week & had a stent put in a blocked artery. Before this I have also been taking medicine for maintaining my kidneys like Renolife ( Taurine & Acetylcysteine ) & Feburic 40 .. Should I take the above med for the kidneys as the docs didn't advise me Also can I have herbal tea like rhyme or cinnamon or aniseed . Pls advise . Thank you Have you seen a doctor about this yet? What medications are you taking? Yes I have to take a lot of blood thinners & statins . The list is 1) Brilinta 90 mg - 2 a day ( Ticagrelor) 2) Exforge- 1 in the morning -5mg ( Amlodipine/ valsartan ) 3) Act 5. --5mg Amlodipine Capsules I in the morning 4) Onglyza-saxagliptin. 5 mg 1 in the morning 5) Concor cor 2•5 mg Bisoprolol hemifumarate 6) Aspimed -75 mg Enteric coated aspirin tablets 1 in the morning Anything else in your medical history you think the doctor should know? Atorcor 80 mg Atorvastatin. I at night I used to take Natrilix for my blood pressure And saxaglitin & Olmetor for diabetes Feburic 40 mg -for Uric acid ( if it was high . Renolife -twice a day Septa q10-once a day Fibator10 mg -once a day I seem to be getting depressed every morning & evening as this heart attack happened to me as a blow to my heart

What is the treatment of heart attack ?


urgent theraputic catheterization and opening of blocked coronary artries is the most important step with inserting stent in the narrow areas of the arteries
then you should be placed on some medications to prevent recurrence of heart attack like :
aspirin for thinning effect on platelets to prevent aggregation and blockage
simvastatin to lower cholesterol to prevent accumulation over the arterial wall
antihypertensive drugs kike exforge to prevent high work load on the diseased heart
betablockers to control the rythm and contractility of the heart like bisoprolol
hypoglycemic agents to control diabetes which is a major risk factor for heart attack
diurtics like furesemide 40mg to lower blood pressure and prevent fluid collection due to low functioning of kidney and heart
regular check up of kidney function an Blood pressure

Can you take herbal tea ?


yes you still can take it but with moderate amounts to avoid kidney exhustion

What is a heart attack ?


The most common cause of heart attack is a blockage of a coronary artery due to hardening of the vessels and a layer of fat on it
This blockage leads to stopping the arrival of blood to the part of the heart muscle leading to the some symptoms

What are the symptoms of heart attack ?


breathing difficulties
Severe sweating
Pain in the chest, shoulder and arm
irrigular heartbeat

Heart attack is diagnosed by
