I have my younger brother that is sick now and they are saying that it’s like he has spinal cord stroke ,please how can we go about it sir
Have you seen a doctor about this yet? What medications are you taking?
We don’t know any medication to take first but he has seen a doctor and he said he did not find anything that require operation and the boy cannot stand up now
Anything else in your medical history you think the doctor should know?

Treatment of spinal strok of children:
- it depends on treating the cause
- you should know that if there were damages that already happened they may as well become permanent
- so typically doctors try to decrease the complications by treating the symptoms
- and because there are many causes , it is hard to give any treatment befor doing defferential tests
Diagnosis of spinal strok in children:
- clincal history and examination
- doing an MRI
- doing ESR, CRP
- Lumbar puncture
- measuring the level of clotting factor in the blood
- doing complete blood count
- there are many cause of spinal strok in children and every on of them needs a precise evaluation
Causes of spinal strok in children:
- meningitis
- tendency to form hemorrhagic stroks like in vitamine K deficiency
- vasculitis
- arteriovenous malformation
- sickle cell anemia
- recent surgery in the spine or in the heart
