Treatment of swollen armpit

:

• the treatment depends on the cause
• if it is a lipoma then a surgical resection is the final management
• if it is due to cystic collection or pus formation then surgical aspiration is needed if the swelling is big
• if it is dueto enlarged lymph nodes then you should try an antibiotic like Augmentine for 10 days
• if there is an irrigular mass then you should exam the breast too for more evaluation

Diagnosis of the armpit swelling

:

• clinical examination
• complete blood count
• sonography of the region
• doing a computed tomography of the area if needed
• taking a biobsy if needed

Causes of armpit swelling

:

• lipoma
• collection
• lymphadenitis
• abnormal lymph nodes en;argement due to a remote tumor
